Job Summary

We are growing rapidly and expanding our revenues and client base. We are now looking to add an enthusiastic management accountant into the small accounts team. The accounts team covers a range of both traditional accountancy functions and also key commercial roles getting involved with all aspects of the business. It is essential the individual possess excellent communication skills, can work on their own initiative and is willing to help out in all areas.

Hours of Work

Full time – 5 days a week, 08:30-17:30. A minimum of 40 hours per week.

Accountabilities

Description of Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management Accounts for inclusion in the monthly board pack.
  • Preparation of financial information required as part of the financing arrangement in the prescribed format and to agreed deadlines
  • Prepare consolidated accounts and monthly management reports
  • Produce consolidated budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Review monthly cost centres and analysing variances and exploring potential problems with line manager
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register
  • Review monthly accruals, prepayments and other monthly journals
  • Booking and reconciling monthly payroll journals
  • Ensure that all recharges have been processed in the accounting systems
  • Submit monthly Intrastat VAT, EC Sales and quarterly VAT Return to HMRC
  • Prepare and submit P11D and PSA to HMRC
  • Prepare statutory accounts for circa 6 companies in the Group
  • Assist with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns
  • Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
  • Provide ad-hoc management reports
  • Ad-hoc projects to identify and implement processes which improve the finance team’s efficiency

 

Qualifications, Attributes & Experience

Required:

  • The ability to work with a variety of different senior managers with varying degrees of financial and commercial skills.
  • Qualified or near qualified accountant from one of the major accountancy bodies.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a service company.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience dealing with PE backed business
  • Experience of using Sage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving, organisations and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise way
  • Strong Excel skills.

The Management Accountant post will suit an experienced finalist or newly qualified Accountant with a background in the services industry who is capable of leading finance meetings and dealing with stakeholders.
