DSP Principal Consultant will work across Microsoft, Oracle Cloud technologies and a variety of database technologies in a Professional and Pre-Sales service capacity across the DSP group. The Principal Consultant will reside in the Professional Services team but will naturally work across all areas of the business.

DSP are looking for an individual who is willing to be a lead in multiple technologies. They must be able to apply themselves and knowledge in situations which are unfamiliar; adapt to fast-paced change and be driven by not just technology but also commercial elements of solutions / offerings and services. They will be very much at the forefront of new technologies; solution design and implementation and a key touchpoint for both customers and the sales teams.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales
    • Architect Cloud and On-Premises solution covering technical and cost elements
    • Proactively engage in marketing campaigns, webinars and external opportunities to champion technologies and DSPs capabilities
    • Build and manage Proof of Value solutions for prospective customers
    • Create SoWs and Cloud presentation decks to existing and new clients


  • Professional Services
    • Deploy Cloud infrastructure topologies
    • Deploy Engineered systems implementations
    • Undertake project work for on-premises or cloud based solutions
    • Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technologies in Microsoft and Oracle
    • Maintain high levels of certifications across multiple technologies
  • General
    • Generate assets for knowledge sharing around Cloud and database technologies
    • Assist with knowledge sharing into the Managed Services team
    • Assist with service transition taking PoVs and moving into Managed Services

  • Desire to undertake Cloud training and specialisations exams for different Cloud providers
  • Be able to translate high level customer requirements into specific solutions

Experience & Background

  • Computer Science degree or similar
  • IT Consultancy background with experience in multiple technologies
  • Demonstration of working on IT projects and delivery of either internal or external outcomes
  • Experience in scripting languages
  • Understanding of the main core Cloud concepts

Location / Special Requirements

  • Flexible with weekly travel to a DSP office (Leeds, Nottingham, London, Basingstoke) as and when required
  • Travel to customers may be required as part of the role
