Overview

DSP offers award-winning IT Consultancy and Managed Services for Public Cloud platforms - Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure as well as a 25-year pedigree in database management across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Open Source relational and NOSQL databases. Private Equity backed, and with 4 offices across the country, DSP's mission is to be the UK’s most innovative provider of Enterprise Data Management support services, embracing Migration, Automation, Analytics and Cloud Enablement. As part of this growth, DSP is expanding its Google Cloud Platform practice and is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to support the technical focus of the practice.

The Infrastructure Architect will work across GCP propositions to drive Cloud Migration, Data Management, Containers, Serverless and DevOps solutions into the Enterprise and Commercial marketplace. The Infrastructure Architect will report directly to the Practice Director but will form strong working relationships with the DSP technical and delivery teams, Google and strategic partners. They must be able to apply themselves and their knowledge in situations which are unfamiliar; adapt to fast-paced change and be driven by not just technology but also commercial elements of solutions/offerings and services.  

This is a role to challenge and enhance the career of a highly motivated Cloud expert who is looking to influence the technical direction of a new practice and be a key touchpoint for vendors, suppliers, customers and the sales team.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Commercial Support

  • Work with Practice Director to identify Go To Market propositions
  • Provide thought leadership to drive DSP's profile within Google and strategic partners
  • Input into web pages, webinars and blogs to educate and inform target customers
  • Build peer to peer relationships with key suppliers including Google
  • Support recruitment activities in building the practice
  • Provide Pre-sales support for GCP prospects
  • Build and manage Proof of Value solutions for prospective customers
  • Create SoWs and presentation decks to support sales to both new and existing clients

Professional Services

  • Undertake project work for GCP solutions either new or existing
  • Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technologies in GCP
  • Maintain the requisite levels of certifications across GCP

Skills

Required - Demonstrable Public Cloud experience in:
  • Cloud Networking - VPC, VPN, Multi Region, Multi Project, Site to Site and Point to Site
  • Identity Management - IAM, ACLs or equivalent
  • Basic storage - IAM controlled Buckets or similar
  • VMs, provision, secure, load balance and autoscale
  • Container management - GKE or equivalent
  • Infrastructure as Code - Cloud Functions or equivalent
  • Cloud workload assessments
  • Data modernisation projects
  • Cloud, Hybrid and Multi-Cloud operations - Anthos or equivalent
Preferred 
  • Data centre to Cloud migrations
  • Public Cloud Cost Optimisation
  • Infrastructure TCO experience
  • IT consultancy and pre-sales background
  • Demonstration of working on IT projects and delivery of either internal or external outcomes

Accreditations

  • Minimum standard - GCP Associate Engineer or Azure / AWS equivalent
    • If no current certifications then expectation to pass within 2 months of start date
  • Expected to become Professional level within 12 months of start date - company sponsored training plan

  • Willingness to build on existing technical skills to further their technical competence.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to take goals and translate them into technical solutions
    Be able to translate high level customer requirements into specific solutions

Location / Special Requirements

  • Flexible with weekly travel to a DSP office (London, Leeds, Nottingham & Basingstoke) as and when required.
  • Travel to customers may be required as part of the role.
