On 12^th of July 2018 Microsoft SQL Server 2008 went out of extended support , and on the 9^th of July 2019, SQL Server 2008 R2 support will end. The end of these support and security updates from Microsoft means that systems are vulnerable to outside threats and aren’t compliant with industry regulations such as GDPR.
