Oracle Exadata Services

Exadata-as-a-Service

Exadata deployment options have increased over the last few years to address the demands of the myriad of organisations that use Exadata – no longer do you have to invest in Exadata using CAPEX funding and nor do you have to pre-purchase over-provisioned capacity.

For example, Exadata can now be consumed in granular chunks and only pay for what you need via Public Cloud services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Alternatively, Exadata “Cloud at Customer” offers customers the ability to consume Cloud services on-premise for when moving databases wholesale to OCI is not technically, or contractually, feasible.

Exadata-as-a-Service

Depending on what type of organisation you are all these options have their limitations and it’s at this intersection of cost, simplicity and flexibility where DSP have a solution. Exadata-as-a-Service is an OPEX finance model that enables organisations to:

  • Acquire the latest Exadata release as dedicated infrastructure
  • Pay for what you use and scale usage up over time
  • Keep data on-premise in your own datacentre or new co-location facilities
  • Maintain latest database and Exadata patch-sets via our Managed Services programme
  • Connect optional Cloud Services such as OCI, Azure, AWS or GCP

UK’s Leading Oracle Practice

DSP is an Enterprise Data and Cloud Platform MSP proudly specialising in Oracle, Microsoft and Multi-Cloud technologies. We’ve been voted the UK OUG Database Partner of the Year 5 years running and we’re the Exadata Partner of the Year as voted for by Oracle. For over 25 years we’ve been working with customers to support an ever-evolving landscape of Data Management platforms; the most recent being Exadata-as-a-Service.

Cloud Adjacent Architecture

By leveraging our gold standard partnership with Equinix, we provide secure private cages with high security access control systems across a globally interconnected exchange of datacentre locations. When combined with the Equinix Cloud Exchange, companies are empowered to transition from legacy, individual, IT centralised architecture to one that is distributed and offers complete interconnection at the edge of Cloud Service Providers to further enhance our Exadata-as-a-Service proposition.

Spread Costs, Preserve Cash Flow

Preserving cash flow and moving away from fixed costs to variable costs will be an integral part of a post Covid recovery plan for many organisations, especially when capital investment projects have been delayed or postponed indefinitely. Moving to an “as-as-service” OPEX model enables your business to modernise business critical infrastructure and leverage all the value that comes with it – without being burdened with the traditional CAPEX impact on the bottom line.

Flexible Sizing Options, Specific To You

A unique approach to this Exadata-as-a-Service proposition is the ability to only pay for what Exadata resources are being consumed rather than capitalising the full cost of infrastructure that might be significantly over-provisioned. This lowers the cost barrier of entry to adopt Exadata in the same way Exadata Cloud Service does, but with the benefit of staying on-premise on infrastructure that is dedicated to you.

Overhaul Oracle Contracts & License Terms

Depending on certain circumstances, some organisations might also be able to benefit from a new Oracle license term agreement that replaces existing Oracle support costs. This new license agreement will mirror the Exadata-as-a-Service contract and enable organisations to terminate existing agreements and lower the cost of Oracle technology support to run the service.
